Boost your income; gain more financial freedom; do the things you want
You would have seen Ladbrokes betting shops splattered across many highstreets up and down the UK. They offer a lovely bet £5 to get £20’s worth of free bets.
Access our video guides, matched betting calculators & more instantly. Everything on our site will always be 100% free to use.
Sign up to Smarkets and Ladbrokes using the links below to get the correct welcome offers. You may be asked to verify your accounts during registration (e.g. with a copy of a Photo ID).
Do not forget the 20FREE promo code when registering.
The free bets expire just 4 days after being credited. It’s therefore a good idea to have around £70+ in Smarkets to be able to complete this offer within that time-frame.
We recommend Mug (or Over) Depositing if you can. The minimum deposit required to trigger the offer is £5, but we would advise depositing £10-£15.
Don’t forget during registration to tick the box to receive regular promotions.

To turn the fractional odds displayed at Ladbrokes into decimals just click the settings icon in the top-right corner and choose the decimal odds format.
To help you find the best Qualifying Bet, and to find it quickly, we recommend to use the Oddsmonkey Oddsmatcher tool.
We have been using this tool (and many others on Oddsmonkey) for a few years now and couldn’t be without them. The good news is that you can try out this awesome tool (and several others) now for just £1!
Of course if you’re not quite ready to try Oddsmonkey yet you can get help finding Qualifying Bets via our Matched Betting Blog or use the manual approach you learnt during the previous offers (e.g. in the Coral offer).
Set the Oddsmatcher to select bets on Ladbrokes between the odds of 1.51 and 2.80 (to keep your liability low at Smarkets).
Remember on Smarkets: #BLUE BOXES.
Choose a bet from the Oddsmatcher then check the odds are as expected at Ladbrokes and Smarkets.
(If they’ve changed, just click the ‘Refresh’ button at the top-right of the Oddsmatcher for a list of more up-to-date bets available).

HOT TIP: £5 is the minimum stake needed to unlock the £20 free bet at Ladbrokes. To appear as a good customer and increase your chances of unlocking more offers you can bet £10 or more instead if you are able to as we have in our example here.
You will now need to enter:
The calculator then works out your lay stake amount, which you will use for your against bet at Smarkets.
IMPORTANT CHECKS
> Check your Smarkets balance is greater than your calculator liability.
> Reduce the chance of partially-matched bets or un-matched bets by making sure the liquidity (amount under blue lay box) is larger than your lay stake amount.

If Ladbrokes are offering a boost in the betslip – ignore it for now. Place your bet at Ladbrokes first and check it’s confirmed. Then place your lay bet at Smarkets using the lay stake from your calculator.

Your 4 x £5 free bets will be credited shortly after your qualifying bet has been placed. Remember – you only have 4 days in which to use these free bets.
We now have to repeat the same process we used to do our Qualifying Bet but with a few slight differences…
As we only have 4 days we recommend using your first two £5 free bets on one game and then your last two £5 free bets on another game. (This is the equivalent to doing 2 x £10 free bets).
We need to use our Oddsmonkey Oddsmatcher now to find bets with higher odds (ideally 4.0 or more) so that we can extract a good profit.
We have created a table for you below to see what amount of liability you will need in Smarkets to obtain certain profits based on you using 2 of your £5 free bets at the same time (i.e. a £10 free bet).
If you’ve decided not to try Oddsmonkey for £1 now then you can manually search for bets to do or check our Matched Betting Blog for potential bets to do.
Enter your free bet stake, with your back odds from the bookmaker and lay odds from the exchange.
The calculator will work out the lay stake amount you need to use at Smarkets to make your profit. Here’s an example of what your calculator will look like based on combining two £5 free bets on one game:
Remember to do your important checks (Smarkets balance > liability; Smarkets liquidity > lay stake) before placing your free bet.
Remember to select your free bet in your betslip at Ladbrokes. Also to place your bet at Ladbrokes first.
You can only put through one £5 free bet at a time, so you’ll have to select the same bet again and select the 2nd £5 free bet in the betslip to put through a total of £10 in free bets.
Once these are confirmed, head over to Smarkets and place your lay bet using the lay stake amount your calculator is showing.
Finally, repeat the entire process again with your remaining £5 free bets.
